Binmaley is a first class municipality of Pangasinan in between Lingayen and Dagupan City. The municipality is represented by a large crab statue, an apt symbol since Binmaley has the distinction of having the most fishponds in the entire province of Pangasinan.

Because the municipality is richly endowed with the largest aquaculture land in Northern Luzon, Binmaley has acquired the title "The Seafood Capital of the North". So a week from now (January 26 to February 2, 2011), Binmaley will be celebrating its first-ever Sigay Festival. The word "sigay" is Pangasinan word for “harvest from the sea”.

During the Sigay Festival, a wide range of activities will be held like a fluvial parade, a boat race entitled "Banca Carera", grand seafood cookfest, the coronation night of Bb. Binmaley, a colorful parade of street dances, and nightly parties for the different sectors of society. Barring work schedule, I hope to be back in Binmaley to catch the fun, excitement and taste of the mouthwatering seafood delights!!
